A Study on the Influences of the Elderly Long-Term Care Worker`s Job Stress on the Organizational Effectiveness

Abstract
A survey was conducted with 340 personal care workers in order to determine what effect the factors related to their job stress had one their organizational effectiveness. Effected areas included work satisfaction, work concentration and the tendency to change the work place. In summary, the results of this research show that the index of personal care workers¡¯ job stress is related strongly to patients, working conditions, and salary. Furthermore, the degree of stress increased dramatically in areas such as age (specifically workers in their 20¡¯s and 30¡¯s), married emplyees, workers with a high educational background, and those workers with a lot of work experience. However, despite feeling more stress in the workplace, these same groups of people showed a higher level of trust in their companies, higher level of concentration, and were less likely to quit their jobs. The factors contributing to job stress should be decreased through the improvement of the working environment in order to increase the organizational effectiveness of employees. showing a positive mind as
well as the acquisition of proper knowledge both contribute to the degree of job concentration and satisfaction thus having a positive effect on the quality of service provided to the elderly.
